I chose my major

This blog is big news to me or let me put it this way, this has been something that has consumed a lot of my mind. Well , if it wasn't for this question I maybe would have written many more poems but you know I am also like everybody else or maybe I am like this because of everybody else. If I don't do what they think I should do, I without any reason become the runt one. It's like I am not even the smallest or the weakest I just am not doing what others want me to and even if I be the rebel which right now I am kind of. How far am I going to go? is what everybody thinks. It is become quite far a narrative that if you don't think (actually wrong word it should be stress and overthink) about your career you are unambitious , not so goal oriented, lost in life and the chances of you ending up nowhere is more than the chances of the sun being in the sky during daytime.

Look , I understand it's a competitive world with a ever growing population, inflation and much more. Getting a job, building a career , ending up somewhere decent in life is important and we should aim towards that but trust me it's okay if you don't have it figured out right now. I chose my major recently and if you had asked me what my major was going to be two years ago, I wouldn't have had any answer and if you had asked me the same question three years ago I would've had a different answer and when I think about that answer today, I come to the conclusion that It was a wrong one.

So , it's fine if you don't know what you are going to do in two years from now. Also, if you know what you want to do, that is fine too. I am not saying that don't think about it at all that again would be wrong think about it but don't let it be the only thing you think about. Don't worry about it so much that everything you do just becomes about it. Don't make it bigger than it actually is supposed to be. Your focus should be on doing things that benefit you in a way where you learn new things, discover more about them and eventually maybe even make a career out of them. Okay, done with the I hate the society rant for now.

As I told you I chose my major and It is Botany. Yes , I've chosen plants for life and could I be anymore happy than I am right now ? Well, when I took BSc to be my only solid career option which is a degree that everybody keeps as their back up plan everybody thought I was dumb to do that and with all that lovely noise around me I got trapped in that dogma too and On days I did consider myself dumb and I regret it. Look, I am not the most successful person to give advice to anybody looking for it but, yes society is the same for everyone and I guess you hate their opinions too. That noise it is annoying yet convincing with all of those successful examples of doctors and engineers and how they did not do BSc to  become successful and how even I shouldn't Do it if I want to be successful. For a while I did doubt myself you know the if’s and the but's in my head but then at the end of the day I came to this conclusion that Who gets to decide what my success would look like ? Just because you have a view of what success looks like doesn’t mean that we have the same perspective too. I don’t understand why do we have to belittle each other for what career we choose . Honestly, if ten or five years from now I do not become successful according to your perspectives then people you win I lose. But in that loss that you think is loss and you are feeling sad for me (at least on my face) otherwise you are happy but in that loss I’d be the happiest. Well money matters but what you like to do matters more and bring these two together is what success means to me If you ask me right now. I think I am successful in what I am doing. Because I am doing botany like I found botany. Look I love plants I’ve loved them since I was a kid and I also love books along with that I have a creative side to me as well and I love green places too. If I tell you that botany has everything I like to do and a career too It would be hard to believe right? But it does have everything I need and want in life to be successful. When I first chose botany I did not know much about it and with a lot of help and some understanding I got a deeper insight into it. Since then I haven’t looked back I don’t think too much about career anymore. I do think about it sometimes but now it’s not with a frown on my face and tension in my mind on the flipside I think about it with a smile on my face and enthusiasm in my mind. Now when I think about my career it’s like being in a dreamland but in reality.

Career shouldn’t just be about certificates and marks well if don’t know how to cook even if I know the right recipe the food wouldn’t taste good right? And in reality the perfect recipe does not exist it changes according to everybody’s taste and likings some figure it out soon some take time and it is fine unless you don’t starve yourself. Well, for that you need to know how to cook because you have to do it yourself and nobody else is going to do it for you. It is not just the certificates or marks that help . The skill that you have is also needed for you to be good at what you do.  To sum up after listening to a lot of people going through different shades that exist I’ve found answer to the question what are you going to do in life . Well I AM GOING TO BE WITH THE COLOUR GREEN , chase it, find it ,decorate it, save it in a nutshell live with it till I have time. It is going to be the colour I’ll always look for. It took me time to figure that out but then I found out it was easy and not as dreadful as everybody says. I hope you find your colour too someday till then keep searching and learning.

Somewhere in the middle........

Okay, so I have again ghosted this blog for a while, but you know, just got so caught up into everything else that it just became an “on the back of my mind” thought. It just wasn't coming to the front which reminds me of many other things which didn't come to the front either. Like I said, I was too occupied. But for this blog, a really kind person decided to remind me that, hey, you have forgotten about the blog, and that they're waiting for a new post. But now, as I am writing this, I reckon what were other things that I didn't do when I was too caught up with the things at the front. And also the fact that I never really cared what was important and what was not I just went on doing what came to the front. Now that I think of it, what if the thoughts and things waiting for me at the back of my mind were the ones I should have focused on? You know, I get it live in the moment, you just have one life but yeah, that matters, right? I just have one life, an...

I am a seasonal being

I am a seasonal being. Wait, I forgot to add human. So actually, I am a seasonal human being . What’s the difference, you ask? Well, a seasonal being changes every season, inside and outside. But a seasonal human being? Sometimes we change only on the outside. Sometimes, only on the inside. And sometimes both. The changes are constant. That’s just how life works. Seasonal beings understand that. Seasonal human beings… haven’t. But I think we will. The thing is change for us is still a shock. And the worst part?  We don’t have a defense ready. Apart from crying, of course. Which, again, is subjective. Because men "don’t cry" It makes them weak. And women are weak, so they cry. Or so we've been told. Some of us develop defenses, though they’re not always healthy taking it out on others, starving, bingeing, self-harm, even suicide. And some of us just exist while everything around us keeps changing. We tell ourselves we’re excited about change. We admire other se...

“Is It Love or Am I Just Gambling?”

“Is It Love or Am I Just Gambling?” “Last night, I woke up to a nagging feeling . the sense that I wasn’t worthy of anything. But then it dawned on me love wasn’t the problem. I’d given as much as I could, but I never received it back. Was I gambling, waiting for the roulette to stop on you loving me, hoping to win and receive love in return? Turns out I wasn’t gambling; I was hoping that this gamble would somehow pay off, and I’d win. I was ready to take the risk. Is it love? No, it’s not. The butterflies were there since you caught my eye, but the racing heartbeats and nervous eyes are still waiting to happen. So, I can say I’m ready for love. Again, I ask, Is this love or am I gambling? Well, I’m waiting, ready for love, so I can gamble and win. Will I win? What if I lose? Time will tell. Till then, stay tuned...
